Environmental Policy:
Working towards Eco Church status

The Eco Church initiative considers how we, as a church, care for God’s earth in various areas of life and work. These include worship and teaching, the management of Church buildings and land, community and global engagement, and lifestyle choices.

Rather than an immediate achievement, gaining Eco Church status is very much a matter of ‘work in progress’ where a carefully considered plan is followed over a set period of time.

Periodic surveys of how the church is caring for God’s Earth are conducted and then points awarded. Through a process of continuous improvement it is possible to attain Bronze and then Silver Awards with the ultimate goal being a Gold Award. As of July 2019 Quinton Methodist Church had attained a Bronze Award.
