Attending worship during the CV-19 pandemic
Congregational worship in Church
Quinton Methodist Church is located in Dudley Metropolitan Borough and thus the restrictions that apply to this local authority area apply to our Church.
The Church is located very close to the boundaries of Sandwell & Birmingham and therefore draws much of its congregation from at least three local authority areas and some from further afield. As local authority areas, etc., are liable to have particular regulations placed upon them at short notice, with the possibility that travelling is restricted between or to or from some areas, please ensure that you are permitted legally to cross any borders for the purpose of attending Church. Whilst observing the regulations in operation at Church under those which apply to Dudley Metropolitan Borough be also careful to observe the regulations that apply to your own local authority area as the stricter regulations will apply.
Procedure for attending worship
The safety of those attending worship at Quinton Methodist Church is our top priority. It is essential to do everything possible to keep the Church Covid-secure and all who attend as safe as is possible. The Church can only remain open if everyone follows the guidance detailed in the documents below, and also the instructions of the stewards on the day; otherwise it may be that services have to be cancelled or that Church and building has to close.
Please read the Reopening of QMC for Worship document before attending worship as this will ensure you will know what to expect and what to do. It is essential that the guidelines are followed strictly.
In his letter from Rev Ian Howarth the Chair of Birmingham District also provides useful guidance and in particular stresses that there should be no mingling and chatting, just worship. and at the end of worship people should leave the building immediately and not interact with others, beyond perhaps a wave.
Track & Trace
If you have a smartphone please bring it with you in order to assist in the Track & Trace process. You will need to download the NHS Covid-19 app first.
A service sheet is usually available in advance for you to download and print at home. Once the sheet is available a link will be placed alongside the particular service on the Calendar page.
Changes at short notice
Government regulations and the Tier status of Dudley Meropolitan Borough may be subject to change at short notice. This, along with operational concerns may affect the ability of the Church to hold services. Please check the Calendar page regularly and also the News page for late-breaking information.
It is now possible to donate to QMC online. The portal has been established with Give A Little who supply digital fund-raising solutions to many charities and also provide the contactless payment system used at Church.
